Can’t believe this challenge finishes tomorrow! Day 29: Write about the worst injury you have ever had.
I have honestly never really had a serious injury. I have never broken, sprained or fractured anything, I haven’t needed to go to the hospital or require any kind of first aid. I truly think the worst thing I have done is pulled a muscle, and I’m not even that convinced that I had. I’ve obviously hurt myself before, but nothing bad.
When I was 2/3, I fell out of a wheelbarrow and landed on my face but I think it only cut my nose.
When I was around 9, I was playing in the garden with my brother. The aim of the game was for me to throw toy cars in the air and he would hit them with a baseball bat. I’m sure you know where this is going. He hit me right in the jaw. It only bruised it though, nothing major. I kept all of my teeth.
I can remember when I was in primary school, there was a boy who was horrible, his name was Aaron. I didn’t like him and he didn’t like me. We were running on the field and he picked up a stick and threw it at me. It hit me right in the mouth and cut my gum. It was a pretty gruesome sight because it caused half of my gum to fall down over my teeth. I was sent home and my mam and dad were so mad. That was a slightly bad injury, I suppose. But when you think there was someone that day with a broken leg, I’m sure my split gum pales in comparison.
There was another time when I was riding my bike, and every child has done this, I fell off. It was quite a nasty fall because I had been going down a hill where I lived, and instead of turning when there was a curve, decided to just keep going and went flying off my bike and landed on the road. Pretty sure I skidded across the road, but I could be over-exaggerating as I probably did at the time. Cut my hands, elbows, and knees. I was not very brave about it.
This really shows the kind of sheltered life that I have had. I never really done many exciting, adventurous things. Neither of my brothers had ever broken a bone until recently when my younger brother broke his little finger by punching a wall. We had no sympathy for him.
