Posting this one a bit late in the day but on to day 16: Meet my pets
So this is my dog Hooper. He is a Beagle and is 2 years old. He was the bane of my life when I lived at home, and still manages to be even now that I have moved out.
We can’t leave him alone unless he is in a cage, even if we’re just going in to the garden or nipping to the shop. He needs to be watched constantly. He eats everything in sight. I remember when I cam home from work, he came over and pulled my sock off and ate it in one go. Literally went down in one.
He spends most of his time barking at everything and always smells. He also can’t be trusted off of the lead. When he is on walks, whoever is with him spends their time getting their arm ripped off because he is pulling so much. He’s the greediest little thing as well, whenever we are eating he goes from person to person hoping to get some food. When that doesn’t work, he then jumps up on the chair and sits on your shoulder, slowly edging his way down your body to your plate.
To be fair though, this is all down to the fact that we didn’t train him at all. He knows ‘sit’ and that’s only if your holding a treat above his head. It’s our fault. If you are thinking of getting a dog, make sure you train them properly.
I still love him to bits though.
My mam is animal mad. Since I was born we have always had a pet in the house. Name a pet and we have had it. Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, fish. We have had it all.
One of the reasons I wanted to move out was because I didn’t want to have a pet. As much as I love animals, they are a lot of responsibility and I am just not ready for that yet. Then my roommate got a dog.
